Who is Alejandro Frutos?
Alejandro Frutos is and actor know for his roles in Mariachis (HBO), Guerra de Vecinos (Netflix), and the feature film Who Speaks Love. He is also known for presenting plays in some of the most important theaters in Guadalajara. For example, El Conjunto Santander, Teatro Alarife, and Teatro Experimental, to name a few.
Alejandro was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, but moved to South Lake Tahoe, California, at the age of five. There he grew up, and at fifteen, he began his acting career. He landed his first role in the stage adaptation of Treasure Island, and from that day on: he has made a living telling stories and creating fictional worlds for him to play in and others to see.
A year later, after his debut in Treasure Island, he moved back to Guadalajara and continued his acting career. During high school, he went to two different acting schools while he did theater. Then after graduating from high school, he entered the University of Performing Arts for Theatrical Expression at UDG (Licenciatura en Artes Escenicas para la Expresion Teatral).
Throughout his career at the university, he did several plays. The most famous were: Soma, Cuerpos en Caída Libre, which was nominated for Los Premios del Publico a lo Mejor del Teatro 2018. La Risa Extraviada: which was lucky enough to not only be presented in several theaters in Guadalajara but also in other places in Mexico, such as Guanajuato. And Pipi. A play that will always be in his heart and that many people admired his work as Monster.
Before graduating from the university, he began his career in film. His first short film was Soulmate, where he played the leading role, and after that, he did several more: until one of them was featured in Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia 2020. That short film was Jaguar.
And then, just like that, he landed his first role in the TV series, Fabric of Lies. And thanks to that show and Jaguar, his film career began to rise.
The next TV show he did was for Netflix, Guerra de Vecinos, followed by his first feature film, Who Speaks Love.
All this was happening meanwhile he was graduating from the UDG. Alejandro has a degree in performing arts for theatrical expression, knows how to animate puppets, perform clown, has done film, television, theater, and is even a writer. He has written some texts that he plans to make movies one day.
His latest works are the HBO series Mariachis and the feature film Perengrinacion a San Antonio.
Alejandro is now living in Mexico City, and although he has been doing this for a while, he is just getting started.
Alejandro Frutos was born to be an actor and will die as one too.
